  1. Silver Creek Park - Grand Opening

    Join us in celebration of Lafayette's newest park amenity, Silver Creek Park. The highly anticipated park is almost complete and will officially open to the public on Sept. 27th. The farming inspiration for the park stems from Lafayette's agricultural history and the Nuoci family farm's heritage with raising chickens; at one point one of the largest poultry operations in the region. The City of Lafayette's Parks Department is looking forward to unveiling this beautiful 3.2 acre park to the public. Suitable for all ages; families are encouraged to attend - light refreshments and snacks will served.

  1. 2018 Citizens' Police Academy - FULL

    August 22, 2018, 6:30 PM - November 7, 2018, 9:30 PM @ Lafayette Police Department and Municipal Court Building

    The Citizens' Police Academy is a unique 12 week mini-police academy for citizens 15 and older. The academy meets once a week to explain and demonstrate many of the department's policies, divisions and functions. Some areas covered include DUI investigation, crime scene investigation, felony car stops, traffic enforcement, tactics, SWAT and officer safety. If you have ever wondered why the police do what they do to keep you safe, apply to attend the 2018 academy! Applicants and background checks are required. Applications available online & at the police department. We are accepting applications until August 20. Seating is limited, so apply early! FALL CLASS is now FULL! Typically we hold one academy per year, in the fall. We are considering adding a spring academy in 2019 (dates to be determined). If you are interested in attending our Citizens' Police Academy, please contact us to get on the spring list or watch for more information on next year's fall class!

  1. Weight Room Orientation

    Sign up for an orientation where you will learn how to use the Nautilus Machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment along with proper weight room etiquette. For the price of admission, trained staff will provide a personalized weight raining orientation to anyone 12 years old or older! 12+ Year olds will receive a Parent/Youth Weight Room ID allowing the youth to work out with a parent any time except our peak times, Monday- Thursday, 5-7:30 PM. 15-17 year olds will receive a Weight Room ID upon completion of the orientation, which can be used at any time.
