11/16 - Thanksgiving Potluck Friday 11:00am-3:00pm
We’ll provide the turkey and you bring the trimmings (sides, salads, relishes, desserts).
Free for residents age 55 and older; $5 for nonresidents or those under 55. Register by November 9.
11/6 - Color Me Mine Tuesday 1:00-3:00pm
Staff from Color Me Mine will teach different techniques, helping you create the most amazing piece to take home. You will create 4 Holiday Ornaments.
11/6-11/27 - Reiki and Voice Yoga Tuesday 1:00-2:00pm
This class will assist you in relaxing and aid you with more easeful communication with family and friends.
11/7-11/28 - Tai Chi (Intermediate) Wednesday 11:00am-12:00pm Wednesday
This course offers deep bending and more complex movements, as well as more of the Simplified 37 Posture Forms.
11/1-11/29 - Tai Chi (Beginner) Thursday 11:00am-12:00pm
Tai Chi is easy and gentle and develops body awareness that can help seniors to keep their balance.
11/26 - Mardi Gras Casino - Blackhawk Monday 8:30am-4:30pm
The casino package includes $5 free play on card, free drinks while gambling and possible other incentives.
Registration deadline is November 13.
11/2 and 11/30- Medicare Part D Open Enrollment Clinics Friday 9:00am-12:00pm
Get one-on-one help to review your policy, get signed up for a new part D supplement or discuss your options with a Boulder County Area Agency on Aging Medicare Counselor during Medicare Open Enrollment. Sessions are 45 minutes and fill quickly. Couples should schedule separate time slots.
11/19- AARP Smart Driver Course Monday 12:00-4:00pm
Improve your skills, increase safety and become eligible for a premium discount on your insurance. Open to all individuals 50+ Certification is valid for 3 years. Registration required through Senior Services 303-661-1492. Location: Lafayette Public Library, 775 Baseline Rd.
11/13 - Effective Communication Strategies Tuesday 3:00-4:30pm
Decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia and identify strategies to help you connect. Registration required through Senior Services 303-661-1492.
11/16 - Medicare Basics Class Friday 1:30-3:30pm
Presenters provide information to help consumers make an educated decision about their options. Location: Lafayette Public Library.
11/19 - East Boulder County Diabetes Education & Support Monday 11:00am-12:00pm
This monthly meeting provides education about nutrition, exercise, sleep and the effect of each on Diabetes. For questions, call 303-441-4995.
11/20 - Low Vision Peer Support Group Tuesday 1:00-2:00pm
Connect with peers to create a community, maintain hope and process frustration and sadness during the transition to living with visual impairments. Sponsored by the Center for People with Disabilities.
11/28 - Memory Café 3:00-4:30pm Wednesday
This free drop-in program is for people with younger onset Alzheimer's disease and their care partners. Memory Café offers peer and facilitator support, resources and education. For more information, contact the Alzheimer's Association 800-272-3900.
