Latin Dance - 1:15-2:00pm Mondays NEW TIME
This Latin inspired fitness class is a great, unique and effective approach to exercise. Drop-in fee $4, 20 punch card for $64 or SilverSneakers membership.
8/2-8/23 - Tai Chi (Beginner) 11:00am-12:00pm Thursday
Tai Chi is exercise that is easy and gentle and develops body awareness that can help seniors to keep their balance. Registration required.
8/1-8/22 - Tai Chi (Intermediate) 11:00am-12:00pm Wednesday
This course offers deep bending and more complex movements, as well as more of the Simplified 37 Posture Forms as taught by Cheng Maching. Registration required.
8/7-8/28 - Reiki and Voice Yoga 1:00-2:00pm Tuesday
Reiki Meditation and vocal sound exploration assists in distressing and relaxing and helps you speak up from your heart with confidence and deepen your emotional intelligence. Registration required.
8/1-8/31 - Community Summer Project
Older adults are an active, vibrant part of life in Lafayette. Help us demonstrate this by designing a puzzle piece that shows what "Aging in Lafayette" means to you. Blank puzzle pieces are available for pick up at the Lafayette Senior Center, Art Nite Out and Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. Submissions should be returned to the Lafayette Senior Center or Bob L. Burger Recreation Center by August 31 to be assembled for display.
8/28 - Life Through the Lens of an Engineer 1:00-2:00pm
He used his engineering skills in the space industry while working on the Gemini and Apollo missions, developing a Japanese publishing system, and created the Global Positioning Systems (GPS).Location: Senior Center, 103 S. Iowa Ave.

Visit the Senor Center for some summertime refreshments and learn about all the fun and helpful activities, events, and resources that we will offer this fall. We're right next door to the Farmer's Market.
8/25 - Comedy Night at Indian Peaks Golf Course 6:00-10:00pm

8/30-9/4 - Senior Artist Showcase - Call for Artists
Senior Artists (ages 50+) are invited to hang their art at the Senior Center during our Senior Artist Showcase; submission dates are from August 30-September 5(noon). Art Show will be open September 6 to September 27.
8/20 - Mardi Gras Casino - Black Hawk 8:30am-4:30pm
The casino package includes $5 free play on card, free drinks while gambling and $5 food voucher. You must use your player card to earn points and receive package. Meals are on your own. Fee includes charter bus transportation. Pick up is at the Erie Community Center, 450 Powers St. Registration deadline: August 6.
8/28 - Dead Sea Scrolls - Denver Museum of Nature & Science 9:30am-3:00pm
The Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 11 caves in the desert hills near the ancient town of Qumran. They were sheltered within these caves and preserved by dry heat. Registration deadline: August 13.
8/8 - Understanding Dementia Related Behaviors 6:00-7:30pm

Peer and facilitator support, resources, and education for people with younger onset Alzheimer's and their care partners. FREE drop-in.
