Welcome Dinah Pollard
Please stop by and introduce yourself to Dinah, our new Resource Coordinator. Dinah has been working in related fields for over 20 years. Prior to Joining the Senior Services team, she worked for Balfour Retirement Community as the Social Services Coordinator, Via Colorado as the Mobility Program Coordinator, and for the City of Boulder as a Recreation Therapist. In her free time, Dinah sings professionally and with her church choir and enjoys the outdoors, yoga, in-line skating and inventing smoothies. Her simple pleasures are hanging out with her daughter, Lila, and exploring local coffee shops.
Latin Dance - 1:15-2:15pm Mondays
This Latin inspired fitness class is a great, unique and effective approach to exercise. Drop-in fee $4, 20 punch card for $64 or SilverSneakers membership.
6/7-6/28 - Tai Chi 11:00am-12:00pm Thursdays
Tai Chi is exercise that is easy and gentle and develops body awareness that can help seniors to keep their balance.
6/7-9/27 - Farmer's Market - 4:00-8:00pm
We look forward to sharing East Simpson Street with the Farmer's Market this summer and will keep our doors open a bit later on Thursday evenings so the Market visitors can stop in to say "hello" and see everything that Lafayette Senior Services has to offer.
Do you like to play Pinochle, Bridge or Shanghai Rummy? Our card groups are currently looking for players. Interested? Just stop by and join the game. Check our weekly and monthly schedule.
Beginning June 1, 2018, Via's new fares will be as follows.
- Local with-in town, one-way fares will be $4.50
- Town-to-Town (between communities) one-way fares will be $9.00
- Rural (Nederland, Lyons, Estes Park and I-70 corridor) within-town, one-way fares will be $3.00
Note: Riders who are Medicaid eligible and use Via for medical/dental trips scheduled through Total Transit are not affected by the fare increase.

In 2014, the strategic plan for aging well in Boulder County was published. Age Well Boulder County was the result of information and feedback gathered from hundreds of people in Lafayette and across the county. It is time to refresh the plan, gather input for our 4 year plan, and focus on action steps that individuals and communities can take to ensure that we age well into the future of our aging community. Do you care what our community has to offer as you age? We invite you to participate in an interactive Community Conversation for you to share your vision of the future and offer your opinions, concerns and suggestions. 6/8-8/31 - Community Summer Project
Older adults are an active, vibrant part of life in Lafayette. Help us demonstrate this by designing a puzzle piece that shows what "Aging in Lafayette" means to you. Blank puzzle pieces are available for pick up at the Lafayette Senior Center, Art Nite Out and Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. Submissions should be returned to the Lafayette Senior Center or Bob L. Burger Recreation Center no later than August 31.

8/25 - Comedy Night Under the Stars - 6:00-10:00pm
Save the date. Come celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Indian Peaks Golf Course by enjoying a night of comedy with dinner under the stars. Stay tuned for more details.
6/12 - Collette Vacations Extended Travel PresentationSpain Revel in Royalty of Spanish Culture 1:00-3:00pm
Experience Spain's colorful pageant of art, history and culture. Explore Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Granada, Cordoba and Toledo. Join us as we learn more about this trip from our Collette representative Josh. Registration deadline: June 4.
6/15 - First Families Tour-Denver 10:00am-3:00pm
The Byers, the Evans, the Cheesmans, the Tabors, the Moffats, the Boettchers and many others had a vision for what a lonely outpost on the high plains could become. We will see some of the legacies they left behind. Please bring money for lunch. Registration deadline: June 1.
6/25 - Mardi Gras Casino - Blackhawk 8:30am-4:30pm
The casino package includes $5 free play on card, free drinks while gambling and $5 food voucher. You must use your player card to earn points and receive package. Meals are on your own. Registration deadline: June 8.

6/26 - Downtown Aquarium-Denver 9:30am-3:00pm

6/14 - Effective Communication Strategies for Dementia Caregivers 6:00-7:30pm

6/26 - Dementia Caregiver Support Group 6:00-7:30pm
The Dementia Caregiver Support Group is a safe place to receive support for the difficult journey of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease. This group meets at the Lafayette Public Library, 775 W. Baseline Rd. on the 4th Tuesday of the month. No registration required.
