Last Night of Machine Language

The exhibition Machine Language, presented by LEAF (Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival), explores the ongoing modulations in the relationship between machine and human; machines making art, machines as art, art of the machine and art in the machine. On May 4th, artist Sophie Kahn will discuss her process using 3D scanners, and additive printing techniques to create glitched out figurative sculptures that both entrance and disturb.
Light appetizers will be served; wine available for purchase.

Lafayette’s Art Night Out will feature a fantastic line-up of award winning Colorado musicians.  The popular Mexican Rock band, Chicano Heat will kick off the season May 11. Chicano Heat is a high-energy band with strong vocals, excellent harmony, stellar showmanship and captivating stage presence. They play a variety of music from Tex-Mex, New Mexico, Oldies, Country and Mexican Rock. Chicano Heat was named one of Colorado top ten Latin Bands by Westword Magazine. 
Art Night Out will also feature The Art Market, a distinctive shopping experience with a wide variety of locally made arts and fine crafts.  These creative goods will be available for purchase from 30+ different local vendors and artists. Art Night Out visitors can also enjoy surprising flash mobs, live demonstrations by artists, crafters, dancers, and street performers.
Art Night Out is a free, family-friendly community event that takes place from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on the second Friday, May through September, in Old Town Lafayette.  The Art Market, ARTSLafayette beer & wine garden, children's activities and food trucks open at 5pm.  The free concert starts at 6:30 pm.

Sunday May 6, 7 PM; $10/person at the door   While many PBP graduates go on to success on Broadway or LA, (Sutton Foster two time Tony winner, Celia Keenan-Bolger Tony nominee,Brian Flores world tour Pippin) many others stay in the area and perform at Boulder's Dinner Theatre, Candlelight Theatre, Arvada Center and others.  These young talents want to give back to their roots in a concert for the family.    

Auditions for the summer musical A KID SUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

are open to young people aged 5-18 and will be held on May 19 and 26 at the Harlequin Center for the Performing Arts, 1376 Miners Drive from 1-4 p.m.  Based on Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream, the show will be performed on July 19-22.  All who audition by singing a little, reading from the script or reciting will get a part.  $100 fee.  Rehearsals in the afternoons starting June 19.  303-786-8727 or for more information or to schedule an alternate audition time.

From Ink to Drink: A Coaster Making Workshop

Coasters are inherently fun and totally utilitarian! Workshop attendees will have a chance to hand set antique type and ornaments to print a set of coasters. We’ll play around in the print shop for a few hours and then head over to nearby Endo Brewing to test those coasters out with an ice cold beer.
