The Collective wins Governor's Award "Best New Addition to Downtown"

Lafayette’s Collective Community Arts Center has won the Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing Colorado's downtown districts, Governor’s Award for Downtown Excellence in the category of “Best New Addition to Downtown”. The Collective Community Arts Center, serves as a clearinghouse for arts and culture, and blends the City’s commitment to upholding Lafayette’s past with its future evolution. Visitors can experience the arts through rotating exhibits, historic displays, networking opportunities, arts business development, social themes, lectures, film series, and other enlightening programs. Always free and open to the public.

Machine Language exhibit at The Collective

Opening Friday, April 6 at The Collective Community Art Center; 6 pm - 8:30 pm; Artist Brian Kane talk at 7 pm.

Machine Language is presented by LEAF (Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival), in conjunction with the City of Lafayette and The National Endowment for the Arts. The exhibition Machine Language explores the ongoing modulations in the relationship between machine and human; machines making art, machines as art, art of the machine and art in the machine.

Arts in Education Grants Available

Teachers of Lafayette schools may apply for a grant to support arts-related projects with local students. The Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission (LCAC) is proud to offer the 11th annual Arts in Education Grants to local schools and teachers. ANO Live Music Line-Up

May 11 – Chicano Heat Westword voted one of Colorado's top ten Latin Bands,Chicano Heat plays a variety of music from Tex-Mex, New Mexico, Oldies, Country and much more.
June 8 – Rachel & the Ruckus Ripping guitar, wailing saxophone, rockin' vocals, driving groove, melodic, syncopated bass gets the crowd on their feet & dancing. The blues/rock band you want to listen to, dance to and...think about.
July 13 – Hindsight Classic Rock Boulder-based Classic Rock cover band, playing the greatest classic rock songs of all time!
August 10 – The Savage Hearts are a twin fiddle driven bluegrass meets honky-tonk band founded by Annie Savage. Audiences can expect a highly entertaining stage show with drill-it-to-the-wall three part female harmonies and bombastic instrumentals.  

September 14 – The Hazel Miller Band Just voted "Best R&B" Band for 2017 by Westword magazine HMB is an eclectic blend of Jazz, R&B, Blues, Gospel and original music. Hazel Miller has been described as "a force of nature" for her incredible vocals.

The Art Market features over 30 artist vendors showing and selling everything from painting to sculpture and ceramics to craft, as well as live art demonstrations from guest artists, a special Art X Market showcasing child and teen artists, and more! ARTS! Lafayette and the Lafayette Police Department is offering a free training for all volunteers who wish to help with alcohol service, id checking and sales at the Art Night Out Beer & Wine Garden. Volunteers will learn how to check IDs and other required safety precautions. Other volunteers are needed for jobs that do not require training.
