Comfort Quilts

Saturday, December 9, 1-5 pm
“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” - Desmond Tutu
Some children have scary times and emergencies in their lives, and it must seem very dark to them during those times. You can help ease some of that fear by being part of our Comfort Quilts community project.

Lisa Francisco coordinates an informal community charity quilting group that works at the Library on the second Saturday of each month. The finished Comfort Quilts are distributed to children in distress, here in Lafayette and to places that serve children in crisis. Read for more details.

Beyond the Library Walls - Our Offsite Services

Books and more beyond the library walls icon

Did you know the library provides services BEYOND the library walls? We offer a range of outreach services from Lafayette Kids Ready to Read, which brings story time and library materials to early childhood care facilities around town, and visits to Josephine Commons , Affinity Senior Living, Boulder Ridge Mobile Home Park, and our “Little Libraries” at Waneka Lake and Lamont Does Park.

Last but not least, our Homebound Delivery Service volunteers bring library materials and smiles to folks who can't make it to the library due to illness or other situations. Do you have an idea for library outreach? Contact our outreach librarian to share your ideas!
