Help Support YOUR Library!

Love us? We love you, Lafayette, and we need you to show us the LOVE!
There are so many ways to love and help support us – you can join our Friends organization, work on community events such as book sales and fundraisers, or donate your gently used and greatly loved books.

Volunteer with Us
Our eclectic band of volunteers is essential in helping the library carry out its mission. Become a Lafayette Public Library Volunteer and make connections, learn new skills and enhance your community.
We’re always looking for new volunteers, and at present we have a special need for your help! We need Homework Center tutors, computer coaches, and Lafayette Kids Ready to Read story leaders.
Find the quick and easy application on our website, as well as details about each position.  We look forward to welcoming you onto our volunteer team!

The community cookbook will be sold this holiday season, with proceeds going to Friends of the Lafayette Library Foundation, enabling the Library to remain vital and vibrant in our community.
Submit your recipe today, and help us assemble a taste of Lafayette!

Our Latino Heritage

Latino Families in Lafayette

LPL proudly hosts a community collaborative exhibit beginning in September, created from photos and stories of Lafayette Latino families.

Community members are invited to add their own framed family photos, past and present to the ever-growing exhibit of photos and stories about their families, friends, and heroes. The stories will be included in a community notebook as part of the exhibit.
To submit your photos and stories, contact Karen Andrews.

Beyond the Library Walls - Our Offsite Services

Books and more beyond the library walls icon

Did you know the library provides services BEYOND the library walls? We offer a range of outreach services from Lafayette Kids Ready to Read, which brings story time and library materials to early childhood care facilities around town, Homebound Delivery Service, and visits to Josephine Commons , Affinity Senior Living, Boulder Ridge Mobile Home Park, and our “Little Libraries” at Waneka Lake and Lamont Does Park.

Join us at Art Night Out, September 8; or drop by our new Travel Bug Club at the Lafayette Senior Center, on October 6, from 10-noon.

Last but not least, our Homebound Delivery Service volunteers bring library materials and smiles to folks who can't make it to the library due to illness or other situations.
Do you have an idea for library outreach? Contact our outreach librarian to share your ideas!
