Read!    Track!    Win!

The library’s annual ALL AGES summer reading program is designed to create a culture of reading in Lafayette, and it is funded by the Friends of the Lafayette Library Foundation. Watch our video!

Sign up for the reading game begins online June 1st! Then join us at 5 pm on June 1st with an energetic and engaging performance by Boulder Samba School's Brazilian percussion ensemble, Bateria Alegria! Later in the month join us for a concert with perennial favorites Jeff & Paige on June 23rd at 2:30.

All children and teens who join will receive a free book and can earn additional prizes like more books, rec center passes, tickets to Elitch Gardens or Lakeside Amusement Parks, as well as other fun prizes. Adults who sign up will receive coupons for free or discounted products from Front Range Brewing Company, FATE Brewing Company, Proper Coffee & Cocktails and Chipotle.

This amazing program could not be possible without the dedicated efforts of the Friends of the Lafayette Library Foundation. Please consider making a donation to the Friends or joining them in their fundraising efforts

Beyond the Library Walls - Our Offsite Services

Where are the librarians this summer - they're all over Lafayette! The library provides services BEYOND the library walls; join us Tuesdays at 10 on Festival Plaza, for storytimes - or meet us downtown at the new Lafayette Farmers Market on Thursdays, 4-8 - or celebrate with us at Art Night Out, the 2nd Friday each month!

We bring Summer Reading to Boulder Ridge Mobile Home Park this summer- drop by on Mondays, from 2-4 for prizes, games, and books. We have regular visits to Josephine Commons and Affinity senior living, and we support our “Little Libraries” at Waneka Lake and Lamont Does Park.

Last but not least, our Homebound Delivery Service volunteers bring library materials and smiles to folks who can't make it to the library due to illness or other situations.
Do you have an idea for library outreach? Contact our outreach librarian to share your ideas!

Retirement Open House for Susan Nagle, June 10, 10-noon

Help us celebrate Susan's time at the Library, and wish her all the best in the next chapter of her life as she retires from her 17 years of service to the Lafayette community as Volunteer Coordinator and as Assistant Children’s Librarian.

"It has been a joy and a privilege to have been part of the professional life of the library through all these years. My personal life has been immeasurably blessed by the volunteers, staff, customers, children and dogs I have met, and I am grateful to you all for giving me the opportunity to work alongside you, learn from you, and share moments of possibility and engagement with volunteers." Susan

Sing for Your Life

"On the Same Page" Book Pick

The communities of Lafayette, Louisville, and Superior join to present the seventh annual "On The Same Page" community-wide reading program. The program asks "What would happen if everyone read the same book at the same time?"

This year’s title is Sing for Your Life, a New York Times bestseller by Daniel Bergner, about a young black man's journey from violence and despair to the threshold of stardom.

Sing for Your Life chronicles Ryan's suspenseful, racially charged and artistically intricate journey from solitary confinement to stardom.

Books are available at Lafayette and Louisville libraries, thanks to funding by the Lafayette and Louisville library foundations and the Town of Superior. Formats include: Book club sets, books on CD, downloadable e-books, and books in large print.
