Art Night Out: Update

2020 Art Night out cancel

The City of Lafayette has canceled the 2020 Art Night Out season.

Following local and State guidelines in response to concerns about the COVID-19 virus, this is the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global health crisis. While we’re very disappointed that we’re unable to hold this event for our community, we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today. With current health information and reliable forecast models, this is the best decision to ensure the health and safety of our residents, vendors, volunteers, staff, and entertainers.

Art Night Out is a high density event, filled with great food, beer, fabulous art booths, music, and dancing. It attracts people of all ages.  People are crammed onto the lawn, shoulder to shoulder with their friends and neighbors.  There is high-fiving and hugging.  Customers wait in crowded lines to examine art in the market or purchase beer or some fantastic food.  They eat.  They drink.  They share a lick of ice cream or tasty bite of food with a loved one.  None of these things are safe right now. We are sorry to cancel.  We are sad.   We also understand it is the right thing to do.
