Due to rapidly escalating concerns surrounding COVID-19, the positive COVID-19 case identified today on the CU Boulder Campus, and the closure of Boulder Valley School District this evening, the City of Lafayette has determined it is in the best interest of the surrounding community and our residents’ health and safety to close public City facilities.
Effective immediately, the following facilities are closed until further notice;
- Bob L. Burger Recreation Center
- Lafayette Public Library
- Lafayette Senior Center
- The Collective Community Arts Center
- Miners Museum
- Mary Miller Theater
- Lafayette City Hall
- Lafayette Police Department
Lafayette City Hall closing to the general public effective March 16 at Noon
In response to health department requests to continue advocating for good social distancing practices, the Lafayette City Hall and Lafayette Police Department will be closed to the general public beginning March 16 at Noon. All other public city facilities were previously closed to the public on March 13.
The City will continue providing essential services to the community including public safety, water utilities, and general operations. Non-essential city employees will work remotely for at least the next 2 weeks. Many city services are available online.
We will continue to provide communication and updates on our website (www.cityoflafayette.com/COVID ), Facebook, Twitter, and Nextdoor.
