Research Your Family History with MyHeritage

Enjoy MyHeritage from home to research your family history! MyHeritage has comprehensive genealogy resources, with billions of historical documents, millions of historical photos and other resources in thousands of databases that span the past five centuries.

Get Started

  • Go to https://cityoflafayette.com/myheritage
  • If you are away from the Library, you will be prompted to enter your library card number.
  • Click on the MyHeritage Library Edition link as seen below:

Using MyHeritage
At the top of the search page, use the Watch Tutorial link for tips on using MyHeritage, or use the comprehensive User Guide as a resource to getting the most from your research.

Troubleshooting:
Occasionally there may be disruptions of service with this database. If you got to the Search screen, but your search freezes without giving you results, try clearing your browser cache (Ctrl-F5 in Chrome, or Ctrl-Alt-Delete in Internet Explorer). Then go directly to this link below:
