At a special meeting on February 25, Councilors interviewed seven candidates to fill an open seat on the Lafayette City Council and appointed Carolyn Cutler to fill the vacancy prompted by the resignation of former Mayor Christine Berg.
"We're very lucky to have such involvement. Kudos to all of our applicants," commented Mayor Alexandra Lynch. "I feel the learning curve issue really lends itself to endorsing Carolyn Cutler. She is the strongest applicant we had."
Ms. Cutler previously served on City Council from 2005-2013, and as Mayor from 2011-2013. Prior to her tenure on City Council, she served on the Planning Commission from 2001-2005. Ms Cutler is currently on the Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority where she holds the position of Vice Chair.
Please join us in welcoming Councilor Carolyn Cutler to her new role on City Council.
