New York Times online - Enjoy unlimited free access

New York Times online access

Enjoy free and unlimited access to The New York Times online through the Lafayette Public Library, remotely on any device or from a Library computer or WiFi.

How it Works

At the Library

Use the Library Access link (NYTimes.com/register) to create an account or log in. From Library computers or WiFi, once you are logged in you can enjoy unlimited, free access to the New York Times online.

Away from the Library

Use the Remote Access link (cityoflafayette.com/NYT) when you are away from the Library for unlimited, free access to the New York Times on any device. You will be prompted to redeem a code, and then to log in or create your account. You can renew access every 72 hours, as many times as you wish.

Tip: Find these links anytime by clicking on the Research button on our homepage, or the Browse & Find menu, and navigating to Resources A-Z.

Can I Use an App?

  • Yes! But first, create your account at NYTimes.com/register
  • Download the free New York Times app from Google Play, Amazon Appstore or iTunes.
  • If you use your app at the Library, once you have logged in you are all set!
  • If you use your app away from the Library, you will still occasionally have to go to the Remote Access link in a browser (cityoflafayette.com/NYT) in order to renew your gift subscription using the Library's special access code.
