Due to the resignation of Mayor Pro Tem Gustavo Reyna, the Lafayette City Council will interview and appoint a replacement to fill this open seat. Lafayette residents are encouraged to apply for consideration by August 16, 2018, at midnight. The successful candidate will serve until the next regular election in November of 2019, at which time she or he will be eligible to run for an additional term. To qualify for a position on City Council, applicants must be a registered voter and have lived within Lafayette city limits for at least one year.

On August 28, 2018, the Mayor and City Council will interview candidates to fill a vacant seat on the Lafayette City Council. Residents are encouraged to submit potential questions they would like to have asked of the candidates by midnight on August 16.
