The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2018 Citizens' Academy (formerly a program of the Transit Alliance). This free program helps participants develop a better understanding of the relationship between transportation and community development, increases knowledge of regional issues, and enhances leadership capacity. The academy is also a great opportunity for emerging leaders interested in participating in local government.
Each course will include seven weekly three-hour sessions consisting of lectures from subject matter experts, small group interactions, and networking. Beyond those group sessions, participants will develop individual action plans to put into place upon graduation from the Academy.
The Fall 2018 Citizens' Academy will be held on Thursday evenings for seven weeks beginning September 27, and ending November 8. Classes will be held weekly from 6-9pm at the Denver Regional Council of Governments office, 1001 17th Street, Denver 80202.
