Mate Masie: Family Outdoor Sound Celebration
Ghanaian music and drumming led by Adjei Abankwah that celebrates sounds of nature and sounds in nature.   Families are invited to join in the fun!

This program will begin with Adjei showcasing traditional West African instruments that participants will also have the opportunity to hold and play.   We will progress to stations that feature bird song, sound maps, the sounds of trees and even singing bowls!   And, naturalist Martin Ogle will lead a short walk through Open Space to listen for birds, wind and trickling water.   Our time together ends with a short concert of Ghanaian music and story by Adjei.
“Mate Masie” – the title of our program – is a Ghanaian term that means “What I hear, I keep.”  Come hear Lafayette speak to you, expand your understanding, and take home a beautiful memory!
