Join the Lafayette City Council for a series of monthly chat sessions that run September through May.
The format is a casual group conversation that may be prompted by a specific topic, but always includes participant-led questions and discussions.
These monthly events provide residents with an opportunity to interact with their elected officials outside of a formal meeting environment. Events are scheduled on a variety of days and times to accommodate residents' varying schedules. We hope you can join us for an upcoming event.

Come join us for The Peaks Prime Rib Fridays, a delicious dinner event hosted by Tess Murdock and Phil Pautz at the The Peaks Bar & Grill. Part of the proceeds from these dinners goes toward raising money for Sister Carmen. The Peaks Bar and Grill is located in the clubhouse at Indian Peaks Golf Course in Lafayette. This red table cloth dinner event is a great way to spend your Friday evening while helping the community at the same time. Enjoy tales celebrating the connection of people to the places they live. Celebrate Mother Nature and the many beautiful Open Spaces of Lafayette. Storytellers, Eric Patterson & Wynn Montgomery will tell folktales, legends, and myths as well as help participants learn about Lafayette Open Space. This program will take place in “The Hive” at East Simpson Coffee Co., a perfect place for

Lafayette Open Space is looking for a few good volunteers! Be part of a young, growing program that is bringing wonder, appreciation and enjoyment of Open Space to Lafayette citizens! We need people to help at and with: Trailhead education stations on Coal Creek; “Lafayette birds!” activities - monthly bird-watching sessions at Greenlee Wildlife Preserve; as well as publicity and promotional endeavors. Volunteers are highly encouraged to attend this fun event to become familiar with volunteer opportunities and requirements as well as meet other volunteers and City staff. The Citizens' Police Academy is a unique 12 week mini-police academy for citizens 15 and older. The academy meets once a week to explain and demonstrate many of the department's policies, divisions and functions. Some areas covered include DUI investigation, crime scene investigation, felony car stops, traffic enforcement, tactics, SWAT and officer safety. If you have ever wondered why the police do what they do to keep you safe, apply to attend the 2019 spring academy! Applications and background checks are required. Applications available online & at the police department. Typically we hold one academy a year, in the fall. Due to an overwhelming interest in the fall 2018 academy, we are opening up a spring academy in 2019. The spring class is already filling up! Seating is limited, so apply early! SPRING ACADEMY IS NOW FULL!
