Did you spend time creating during the pandemic? The Lafayette Arts & History Cooperative (The Collective, Lafayette Library, and Miners Museum) invite you to submit work created after March 12, 2020. Artwork of all mediums from all ages are welcome!
Entries for the exhibit are due via email by June 15. All are welcome, however, preference given to artists living in Lafayette. Artwork of all mediums, from all ages are encouraged. Submissions will be juried for this community pop-up exhibit. More here.
Mighty Linden Tree Art Gallery Contest
Theme: SUMMER 2020 in Lafayette Making art is a great way to express your thoughts, feelings, and ideas, and a fun activity for kids of all ages. Draw, paint, print, color, photograph, create anything that makes you happy! Entries must be received by BY JULY 1ST The Details: Contest for all ages, and great for kiddos! Any medium is welcome.
Local teachers may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects geared towards students within the community. Each year the LCAC will determine the total amount of funding available and the maximum grant award amount. Find out more about Arts in Education Grants.
Individuals or organizations may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects within the community. City Gallery Walls
Call for Artists! The Lafayette Cultural Resources Division is looking for artists and arts organizations to display their work on city gallery walls for 2-month long exhibitions through 2020. The City of Lafayette has three facilities with beautiful gallery walls to display artwork on a rotating basis: Senior Center, City Hall and Lafayette Library. 24 artists or artist collaborations will have the opportunity for an exhibition each year. This is a rolling call. Selected artists should read and complete the Guidelines and Inventory Sheet before hanging.
Michael Adams Poetry Prize
After careful consideration, the Cultural Arts Commission and ARTS!Lafayette are changing the event honoring Michael Adam’s poetry legacy to a reading/spoken word presentation by a distinguished Colorado poet. In 2020 we will be hosting a reading by Colorado’s Poet Laureate: Bobby LeFebre. LeFebre describes himself as a Word Architect | Performer | Cultural Worker. Come be inspired by a poet whose vision and commitment to using poetry for the greater good is so similar to Mike’s. At The Collective June 5, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Lafayette Youth Poetry Prize
The Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission hosts the annual Lafayette Youth Poetry Prize, for English and Spanish Language Lafayette poets grades K - 8. Entries are due in the Spring of 2020. Complete details and entry form can be found at www.cityoflafayette.com/LYPP.
