EnergySmart helps homes and businesses in all Boulder County communities become more comfortable and energy efficient. It is designed to stimulate local economic growth; increase energy efficiency investment in Colorado; and advance the state's energy independence through energy upgrades. EnergySmart is a collaborative partnership throughout Boulder County, and is funded by $12 million in seed funds received through a grant from the Department of Energy's BetterBuildings Program.

EnergySmart Lafayette Residential Participation
The City of Lafayette has promoted EnergySmart to residents resulting in 168 residents (as of June 2012) participating in a whole home energy assessment and advisor services. Over 100 homeowners have made at least one major upgrade receiving a total of $33,000 in rebates. In addition, three local contractors were employed to work with residents.

EnergySmart Lafayette Commercial Participation
The City of Lafayette has promoted EnergySmart to businesses resulting in 69 businesses (as of June 2012) participating in the service resulting in 23 businesses making at least one major upgrade. Over $360,000 has been invested in energy efficiency in Lafayette businesses since the inception of the program.
