Be a Part of Art in Lafayette!
The Lafayette Cultural Resources Department is looking for artists to submit work for the following programs:

See & Respond Art Call for Artists and Poets
AOTS.SR sm crop.jpgPoets and 2-D artists of all kinds are invited to See & Respond to the 2013 Lafayette Colorado Art on the Street collection by writing poems or creating 2-D works of art in any medium that are inspired by any of the 2013 Art on the Street sculptures. Cash prizes will be awarded for this juried show. Entries for See & Respond are due July 10, 2013; all artwork is due for installation on August 1. The reception for this event will be August 2, the Lafayette Public Library. For information about deadlines and entry fees, visit the See & Respond pageDownload the application.

Arts in the Community Grants Application Now Closed

Individuals or organizations may apply for a grant to support arts or culture-related projects within the community. The LCAC awards money, usually not exceeding $1000 per grant, to fund projects which will directly benefit the city and residents of Lafayette.  Grant applications were due May 24. All projects receiving grant money need to be complete by December 31, 2013.


17th Annual Lafayette Community Art Show

 

 

CulturalArtsLogo75.jpgThe call for entries to  the 17th Annual Lafayette Community Art Show is now closed. Take time to see the show at the newly remodeled Lafayette Public Library Gallery.  The show will hang in the Lafayette Public Library gallery space from March 30 – May 31. The show  features a wide range of media, highlighting Lafayette’s creative, diverse and eclectic artist community. 


Art on the Wall Call

Lafayette Cultural ArtsWe are currently accepting applications from artists who want to display their work at specified City facility locations for the late 2014 and all of 2015.  Artists may apply for a two-month show with the city.

The City of Lafayette has three facilities with beautiful gallery walls to display artwork on a rotating basis: Senior Services, City Hall and Lafayette Library. Hundreds of people pass through these buildings each week and enjoy seeing the work of various artists and the different media represented. The library also has display cases where smaller 3-D and fiber arts pieces can be shown.   If you’d like to share your work with the community please download and send in the application.  Artwork submission form. Applications will be juried in July 2014

In the event of cancellations of scheduled artists we may contact new applicants about their availability to fill those time slots.


Art on the Street

Art on the Street
This call is now closed.
An art on loan, outdoor sculpture walk in Old Town Lafayette. Sculpture is installed for approximately 12 months. Selected artists receive a $500 stipend. The deadline for applications is November 1. Selection is held in December and January. Artists are notified in January regarding selection of their work.
