Evidence of Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Combination of any of the these categories that is approved by the city’s Human Resources Division
- Require 30 semester hours of college completed
- Two years experience as a sworn police officer or corrections officer in a duly constituted governmental (local, state or federal) law enforcement agency or correctional institution
- Two years military service having been honorably discharged
Special Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be Colorado POST certified or have the ability to be post certified
- Must pass a thorough background investigation to include polygraph and psychological evaluations
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class "R" Colorado driver's license and have a good driving record
