  1. 12th Annual MLK March for Peace and Celebration

    January 16, 2017, 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM @ The event will start at Angevine Middle School;

    Celebrate the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. The event will begin at noon at Angevine Middle School (1150 W South Boulder Rd.), with free refreshments, art and service projects, and live entertainment. Lafayette's annual March for Peace will commence at 1:30 p.m. with departure from the parking lot and proceed NE to City Park (at the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center at 111 W Baseline Rd). Upon arrival, community members will participate in "UNITY," a large, interactive art project that seeks to uncover our commonalities and celebrate our diversity. The event, which is free and open to the public, will conclude at 3:30 p.m. A shuttle will be available during and immediately following the March, and 250 free event t-shirts will be distributed. This event is brought to you by the Lafayette Youth Advisory Committee with support from the Empowerment Center of East County, CU, Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission, and Campus Compact.

  1. Christmas Tree Recycling

    December 27, 2016, 6:00 AM - February 3, 2017, 2:30 PM @ Service Center

    The City Service Center will accept Christmas trees for recycling during these dates and times. Monday thru Friday ONLY from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM beginning on 12/27/16 thru 2/3/17. ONE Saturday drop off will be available on 1/28/17 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Please be aware this is for Christmas trees ONLY. Trees must be free of all wire, lights, rope, ornaments and tinsel. PLEASE no flocked trees. MONDAY 1/16/17 - CITY CLOSED IN OBSERVANCE OF MARTIN LUTHER KING.

  1. Power Fitness Class: January

    January 16, 2017, 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM @ Bob L. Burger Recreation Center

    Power Fitness Classes are a fun and challenging way to get your body into peak shape! Each group session is led by a Certified Personal Trainer to help give you the results, training and inspiration you need to help meet your personal fitness goals. With each session you get a highly effective and motivating workout focusing on strength training with an intense cardio complement to eliminate the boredom of getting and staying in shape by incorporating creativity and variability into a total body workout. You will be integrating free weights, machines, toning work and a wide range of track and outdoor drills (seasonally). Bottom line – its good, hard fun! Classes run year round and session fees are monthly.

  2. School's Out Full Day Program

    School's Out so check out our full day of FUN at Bob's. Participants will have the opportunity to explore arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, field trips, swimming and other adventures. Kids will need to bring a non-perishable lunch, morning/afternoon snacks and a drink.
