    Enjoy the beautiful location and warm hospitality of the Shambhala Mountain Center which is nestled 8,000 feet high in the Colorado Rockies in a serene 600-acre valley surrounded by rocky peaks and forests. We will visit the Great Stupa, which, standing 108 feet tall, is one of the most significant examples of sacred Buddhist architecture in North America. Stop by the Shambhala Mountain gift center for a range of souvenirs, gifts and d├ęcor. Please wear comfortable shoes and layered clothing to accommodate a wide range of temperatures, bring sun protection and a water bottle. We'll provide snacks and water.     On one Wednesday in June and one in July, the Nutrition Lunch Program will have lunch with entertainment outdoors. In July, we'll have extra fun as we celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month.   11. Georgetown Loop Railroad

    The Loop is three miles of marvelous adventure and an exceptional way to see the Clear Creek Valley. The tracks scale an elevation of 640 feet over mountainous terrain, requiring trestles, cuts, fills, loops and curves totaling 3.1 miles of narrow gauge track. Enjoy a 1.5 hour ride in the dining car, with a light snack and a non-alcoholic beverage. Lunch afterwards will be in Georgetown at the Alpine Restaurant and bar where prices range from $8-$12.   22. Outdoor Adventures with Lafayette Parks & Open Space

    This is a bus tour for older adults led by Naturalist Martin Ogle. This 2.5 hour field trip will include 3 short walks (all 1/2 mile or less), commentary and stories about local human and natural history. We will visit Thomas Open Space/Waneka Lake, Coal Creek and Flagg Park for a great overview of Lafayette. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water to drink and a snack.   25. Arapahoe Park Racetrack

    Arapahoe Park Racetrack in Aurora is Colorado's only venue for horse racing. Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, Arabians, Paint and Appaloosa race during the track's summer season.
