Coal Creek Trail

**Due to the September 2013 floods, Coal Creek Regional Trail is closed until further notice. The City of Lafayette is working diligently with our regional trail partners to restore Coal Creek Regional Trail back to a usable condition. However, it is anticipated that this recovery project will not be brief. We thank you for your patience and respect for the closure of this area due to safety concerns.**

**Rock Creek Trail is open between Highway 7 and Sterns Lake. In Lafayette this trail can be best accessed at Rock Creek East Trailhead (2001 1/2 South 120th Street). We welcome you to enjoy this trail that sustained minor flood damage and has since been repaired.** - October 31, 2013

For over 20 years, the City of Lafayette, the City of Louisville and Boulder County have united efforts to construct this regional trail which will, upon completion, span over 14 miles through the three locales. The mostly soft-surface trails parallel the two creeks for which they are named and give a variety of trail experiences and community access users enjoy.

CLOSED - Coal Creek Trail – 3.3 miles in Lafayette (10.1 miles total) - a soft-surface trail that parallels Coal Creek from 66th Street in Superior to Vista Parkway in Erie - BoCo CCT webpage

OPEN - Rock Creek Trail – 2.4 miles in Lafayette (12 miles total) - a soft-surface trail that generally parallels Rock Creek from the Coalton Trailhead in Superior through the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve ending at the Rock Creek East Trailhead in Lafayette. There are several missing links along the route, but once complete will provide twelve miles of trail and merge with the Coal Creek Trail at the confluence of the two creeks - BoCo RCT webpage
