  1. Signs of a Living Planet: Seeing Earth Through Lafayette Open Space

    Celebrate Earth Day by exploring and celebrating the living planet of which we are a part! In the places we bike and walk, we can learn how the air, rock, water, plants and animals are seamlessly connected as a living system. The same Open Spaces we preserve and delight in offer us insights into our Earth Day challenge - how to live sustainably as an integral part of our planet. Join naturalist Martin Ogle to learn about our newest scientific understandings of Earth and how they are reflected all around us. This presentation is part of Lafayette Open Space Education Outreach Program.

  2. Trails & Trees Celebration - RESCHEDULED TO 4/25

    April 25, 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM @ Public Road Trailhead

    Please join this community celebration of Arbor Day and the re-opening of S. Public Rd. Trailhead. The trailhead was severely damaged in the 2013 flood but has now been fully restored and improved. With more parking available and a new restroom facility the trailhead is better than ever. There will be live music, fruit snacks and water on-site free of charge. Come celebrate Arbor Day and Lafayette Open Space with other community members and City staff. **Parking is available on Old Laramie Trail, the street adjacent to the trailhead. The parking lot at the trailhead will be closed to accommodate the celebration. We encourage participants to bike, walk, carpool, or use other alternative transportation to this event.     The 1968 Exhibit brings to life this pivotal American year through photographs, artifacts and vintage pop culture items.     Take your dog out for a walk and stop by the GO! Center where we will have a special treat for your special pet and provide a free photo opportunity for owners' ages 50+ and your pet.
