2014 One Lafayette Grant Recipients

Over 24 non-profit organizations applied for grants from the One Lafayette Community Fundraiser. The 12 current Essential Community Resources recipient organizations from last year are funded with no new organizations requesting consideration for funding in 2014. The existing ECR’s all fulfilled their basic requirements including proving that they are certified as
a 501c3, that they serve Lafayette residents, provide financial statements and a list of board of directors.

Boulder County CareConnect $1,800 Boulder County CareConnect promotes the security, comfort and independence of seniors and adults with disabilities.
Boulder County Legal Services


Serves low-income, disabled and vulnerable clients and provides legal assistance to qualified Boulder County residents with civil matters- including family law, housing rights, public benefits, consumer issues, elder law, and health issues.
Clinica Campesina


Clinica’s mission is to be the medical and dental care provider of choice for low-income and other underserved people in southeastern Boulder, Broomfield, and western Adams counties; their care shall be culturally appropriate and prevention focused.
Coal Creek Meals on Wheels
$2,500 Serves up to 80 clients a day in Lafayette, Louisville, Superior, and Erie; the only agency delivering hot, nutritious meals to shut-ins and seniors, many of whom would be skipping meals if not for this service.
Flatirons Habitat for Humanity


To date they have built 62 homes and rehabilitated two for deserving families in our community; currently they are constructing one of two 3-plexes in Boulder.
Immigrant Legal Center / Boulder County


A Colorado nonprofit specializing in issues of immigration law
Intercambio Uniting Communities $1800 Intercambio’s mission is to build understanding, respect and friendship across cultures through educational and intercultural opportunities.
Rocky Mountain Legal Center


Community service organization primary mission of providing free civil legal representation, mediation, and counseling services to qualifying low-income families, single parents, and seniors
Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Non-Violence


Uses funds from One Lafayette to provide counseling, advocacy, and emergency response services to victims of domestic violence living in East Boulder County
Sister Carmen Community Center


Provides emergency food and support services to prevent homelessness and to foster greater self sufficiency among low income families
St. Benedict Health / Healing Ministry

St. Benedict's volunteer health care professionals hold free clinics monthly at the Sister Carmen Community Food.
Via (formerly Special Transit)


Provides transportation on demand; includes, wheel-chair lift equipment, driver assisted Para-transit services. Individual and group travel training provided to older adults citizens and people with disabilities of Lafayette. Program promotes access to the community, independent living and self-sufficiency.

Funding provided to continue with the upgrade and preservation of the historical collection.

Provides leadership opportunities to young people through the arts, service learning and free programming. Provides young people with opportunities to create and share their voice with the community.


The mission of Imagine is to create and offer innovative supports to people of all ages with cognitive, developmental, physical and health related needs so they may live fulfilling lives of independence and quality in their homes and communities.

Intercambio Uniting Communities


Builds understanding, respect, and friendships across cultures through educational and intercultural opportunities. Will provide childcare for English classes in collaboration with Sister Carmen for Lafayette immigrants.

Audio Information Network of Colorado


Provides free audio information services to blind, visually impaired and print disabled Lafayette residents of all ages via 24/7 broadcasts of newspapers, magazines and other educational and or informational programs not normally available to the blind enabling them to lead more independent and productive lives.

WOW Children’s Museum


Provides educational services for Lafayette children from socio-economically disadvantaged families. One Lafayette will support WOW!’s Scholarship Aid Program for Lafayette children whose families could not otherwise financially afford to participate in the Museum’s exhibits and programs.

Institute for Ethical and Civic Engagement


Seeks to nurture and encourage ethical and civic engagement at the University of Colorado Boulder to prepare students for a lifetime of service to society as thoughtful, ethical and engaged citizens. One Lafayette funding will support the expansion of the university of Colorado Public Achievement program to Escuela Bilingue Pioneer and oversight of the program at Centaurus High School.

Kids Park Lafayette


The mission of Kid’s Park Lafayette is to provide a safe, accessible, learning, recreational and accessible environment to people of all ages and all abilities. One Lafayette monies will be spent on Project “Tune-Up, Tune-In” which involves using music to bring people together in a safe outdoor accessible setting.

Rocky Mountain Center for the Musical Arts


Provides music education and enrichment programs for all ages within the Lafayette Community. One Lafayette monies would be used to support “Heartstrings” a significant community outreach program which targets low income and at-risk students and provides tuition assistance to needy families as well as access to musical instruments for local students.
